7 Chakras 101: How to Activate and Balance Them?

You've probably heard about chakras before in your life.

The chakras are in fact the key points in Eastern philosophies since they are very important energy centers in our body.

In this article we will see in detail what chakras are, how they work and how to awaken them through the practice of reiki and meditation, in order to obtain numerous psychophysical benefits.

Let's get started now!

Reading Time: 24 minutes

What are the 7 chakras

Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning wheel, disc or circle. The chakras are our vital points and represent the energy centers of our body that have the task of absorbing our vital energy (prana) and redistributing it. Our energy flows through our Chakras.

According to Reiki, in the human being there are about one hundred vital points (the chakras, in fact) located between the vital body and the physical body, whose activation allows you to acquire certain physical and extrasensory capabilities, achieve inner peace and finally reach the awakening of consciousness. The Chakras would then be united to the different bodies of man (astral, mental, causal, ...) through a series of channels called Nadis, real energy highways.

But within this group there are the 7 basic or main chakras that are distributed from the lower part of the spine, where there is the Kundalini (energy tangled in the shape of a snake, which must be awakened) to the highest part of the head. The energy flows through these channels with ascending and descending movements, while it forms a kind of spiral, turning like a wheel.

The chakras are also represented with lotus flowers seen from above. For this reason they can also be called Padma, which means "lotus".

Each lotus representing a chakra also has a different number of petals and a different color and contains different elements, such as a mantra, a letter of the Sanskrit alphabet on the petals or a symbol with a particular meaning.

Each chakra is also associated with particular elements, such as colors, sounds, stones and so on. But I don't want to anticipate anything: I'll talk about it in a more specific way in the course of this article.

After this introduction, you probably wonder, "Why are chakras so important to us?"

It's very simple.

The chakras are fundamental points in our body because they are strong energy centers that connect the various bodies and the psyche.

When the chakras are open, the energy can flow freely, with positive effects for both the mind and the body. But when the chakras are closed, the energy can no longer flow, forming a blockage that causes negative repercussions on all levels, both physically and psycho-emotionally.

For this reason it is very important that the chakras remain open and I will soon explain how to do this.

What are the chakras for?

And now that you know what the 7 chakras are, you may be wondering what they are for: officially the main function of the chakras is to absorb the universal energy called Prana, metabolize it and feed the different aspects of the human being to finally radiate energy outward. More simply, we can say that the chakras are energy centers on which depend different functions, not only of the physical body but also of the psyche and subtle bodies.

Below I will describe each of the chakras with some of their most used meanings and characteristics, as well as some illnesses and psychological illnesses that could be caused by the bad development of each chakra.

How the 7 chakras work

The chakras are 7 energy centers situated in our body located between the head and the lower part of the spine and are:

Muladhara - Earth or root chakra
Svadhisthana - Water or sacral chakra
Manipura - Solar Plexus or Fire Chakra
Anahata - Heart Chakra
Vishuddha - Cleansing or throat chakra
Ajna - Chakra of the light or of the third eye
Sahasrara - Crown Chakra

These energy centers have the task of receiving energy and redistributing it through the nadis, a sort of channels connected to the spine that have the task of transporting the energy in the rest of the body.

Our goal will therefore always be to maintain the right opening of our chakras, in a balanced way, so that the energy can flow smoothly without energy blocks (closed chakras) or an overload of energy (chakras too open).

Both of these situations can lead to mental and physical discomfort.

Since the chakras are connected to the nerve ganglia and endocrine glands, the closure of the chakras and the resulting energy blockage can cause a state of inner crisis and psychophysical discomfort as well as the onset of pathologies to the organs connected to those glands.

When a chakra is awakened and then opened, we reach a greater awareness of ourselves and a development of precise psychophysical benefits.

Moreover, the chakras are not unrelated but have a strong influence on each other, especially with regard to the chakras close to each other. This means that the opening or closing of a chakra can also have a positive or negative effect on adjacent chakras.

Each chakra, as we have already mentioned, also has a precise color and a stone that represents it. In the course of the article you will also find a technical sheet where you can also find the colors and stones of each chakra.

The stones and crystals have beneficial influences and used in combination with the chakras also increase their effect.

What does it mean to open the chakras

Now that we have understood what chakras are and how they work, and after observing how important their balance is, we come to a crucial question:

"How to find out if our chakras are blocked? And how do you open them?"

Later, when we describe the individual chakras one by one, I will also give you examples of whether one or more of your chakras are unbalanced.

When a chakra is too closed or too open, in fact, there are some physical, emotional and mental imbalances, a precise practice or meditation can help you solve them.

By realigning the chakras, you will also achieve a balance in your organism, so that your mind and body can live in unison, with all the benefits and positive effects that come with it.

The 7 chakras

Now that we know what chakras are and how they work, let's have a closer look at each of them!

#1 - Muladhara: the root chakra

1 Muladhara the root chakra

The word Muladhara comes from Sanskrit and literally means "base support".

This chakra is located at the base of the spine, in the perineum. It is the chakra that is connected to the legs and is therefore a symbol of the earth and everything that is solid and stable. For this reason it is also the chakra of all the hardest parts of the body, such as nails, bones and teeth.

It controls different parts of the body such as the nose, sense of smell, lymphatic system, bone system, prostate and lower extremities. It is usually associated with the color red. The root chakra or first chakra symbolizes stability, self-confidence and security and is related to our survival. When it is balanced we feel safe, happy and able to live the present moment, full of enthusiasm and ready to plan our future.

It is in fact essential to have solid roots on which to base our whole life, just as the roots for the survival of a tree or the foundations for building a solid house are fundamental.

When the first chakra is blocked, we can feel lost, apathetic, distrustful and without self-confidence. We will never feel satisfied in one place and we will tend to change house or country often.

Even our body suffers from the blockage of this chakra: we will feel tired and exhausted, we will have problems with our teeth, kidneys and joints.

When it is too open, opposite feelings are unleashed, such as a strong attachment to material goods and the past, without being able to live the present moment.

We oppose to change and we develop a total lack of fear or excessive fear, which can lead us to get into very risky situations or the inability to enjoy the beauty of life.

How to balance the first chakra

To balance the chakras you never have to pretend to be what you are not. For example, you don't have to fake pretending to be happy to align it, but on the contrary, if you manage to rebalance it, you will start to feel happy.

If you can't do a Reiki session, there are several exercises, positions and visualizations you can do to unlock the first chakra.

The first thing I recommend you do is to find a quiet place where you can be in direct contact with the earth, such as a wood or a garden. The garden at home is also fine!

Practice yoga positions that encourage your contact with the earth, such as Vrksasana, the tree position, or Tadasana, the mountain position.

Also do visualization exercises. Sit on the ground with your legs crossed and your back upright. Now visualize roots that start from your body and go deep into the ground.

As the roots go down, they will carry with them all the negative energies you have accumulated. When you feel ready, call back the roots to yourself, which will go back together with the positive energy of the earth.

To help you keep your concentration, you can also listen to the LAM mantra, the mantra corresponding to the first chakra, which you can find in the video below.

You can also open this chakra by walking (e.g. experiencing walking meditation), doing aerobic exercises, flexing your trunk until you touch your toes while sitting, doing dance or dance exercises, jumping on the spot, doing exercises that enhance self-confidence, practicing yoga, etc..

#2 - Svadhisthana: the splenic chakra

2 Svadhisthana the splenic chakra reikishamanichealing

Continuing the journey of ascent of the kundalini, the second chakra we find is the splenic chakra or water chakra. Unlike the first one, which indicates stability, this chakra is associated with liquids and therefore with letting go, with the flow, with the capacity for change.

The second chakra is the fulcrum that connects the soul with the body. It is located in the lower abdomen, just below the navel, and is the chakra of emotions, spontaneity, creativity, pleasure and sexuality.

The splenic or orange chakra is related to the sexual organs, the reproductive system and the lumbar plexus.

When the water chakra is blocked, it is the emotions that are most affected.

We have strong mood swings, we are full of anger, guilt and shame and we are subject to panic attacks. The search for sex is transformed into a mere physical stimulus but without involving emotions. This inevitably leads to unsatisfactory stories with your partners.

Physically, problems and pathologies can occur in the lower abdomen, such as kidney stones and dysfunctions of the reproductive system and the menstrual cycle, as well as fluid flow, such as the circulatory system or the bladder.

Other consequences of splenic chakra malfunction are sexual repression, fear of pleasure, contempt for sex and energy blockages that limit the expression of one's personality.

If the second chakra is too open, there is a search for pleasure and immediate but ephemeral satisfaction, developing emotional addictions or addictions related to food, alcohol, drugs or sex.

How to rebalance the second chakra

To rebalance the second chakra, you will have to work on your emotions and your creativity.

The practice of Reiki will help you to know and manage your emotions. Breathing is also very important to rebalance the splenic chakra. Just like a fluid, in fact, you will have to be able to let the air that you breathe through your whole body flow.

The mantra of the second chakra corresponds to the Sanskrit letter Vam. You can listen to it in this video below.

Listening to this mantra during practice and meditation will help you rebalance the second chakra.

To activate this chakra you can also dedicate yourself to some exercises such as swimming, give yourself long baths, showers, some relaxation in a jacuzzi, or even with dances or dances involving movements and rotations of the pelvis, closely related to sexual relations.

#3 - Manipura: the solar chakra

3 Manipura the solar chakra reikishamanichealing

The third chakra, the solar or fire chakra, is located in the solar plexus, the part of the abdomen that lies between the diaphragm and navel, is associated with the yellow color and involves different parts of your body such as the skin, muscle system, stomach, liver, large intestine and glands and organs at the level of the solar plexus. It is also associated with the eyes, the sight and the muscles of the face.

If the first chakra is connected to stability and the second to flow, the third chakra is that of the union of these two elements, namely light, energy, heat and when it is well balanced we feel energetic, self-confident, strong and self-controlling.

We are not afraid of the judgments of others and we know how to always be up to the situation and we have no difficulty in managing ourselves and our emotions.

It is connected to the digestive system and digestion, which "devours" food just as fire devours what it finds in its path.

When the third chakra is unbalanced we can see many negative symptoms, both physically and mentally, especially related to our safety and our digestive system.

When it is too closed, in fact, we notice the rise of insecurity, low self-esteem, introversion and a strong sense of inadequacy in all situations. On the physical level, however, problems arise such as liver disorders, nausea, ulcers, gastritis, difficulty digesting and coeliac disease.

Problems can also appear when this chakra is too open, making a person appear very arrogant, aggressive, far too self-confident, constantly seeking power and always feeling the need to self-celebrate to hide their defeats and insecurities.

How to rebalance the third chakra

To rebalance the Manipura chakra you can practice Reiki and all yoga positions involving the abdomen, such as the Navasana, the position of the boat, or the Parivrtta Trikonasana, the position of the rotated triangle.

Meditation can also help you. You can choose to do meditation using the Ram mantra, found in the video below and which is the mantra of the third chakra, or opt for a guided meditation.

You can open this chakra also by running, relieving tension, changing boring habits, breaking routines and doing bow exercises, such as the 5 Tibetan rites (you can find many videos on Youtube).

#4 - Anahata: the heart chakra

4 Anahata the heart chakra reikishamanichealing

The heart chakra is the most central chakra. It unites the higher, more spiritual chakras, which represent elements that are in the air, with the lower, more material chakras, which represent elements that are on the ground.

The Anahata also represents the air, which unites the earth with the sky. The fourth chakra is therefore a real link between the top and the bottom, between the ground and the spiritual, and this is also demonstrated by the two triangles within it, one with the tip up, to indicate the sky, and one with the tip down, to indicate the earth.

The fourth chakra is closely related to the heart, the circulatory system, lungs, heart plexus, the entire area of the chest and the breathing. It is associated with the color green.

When it is open we are able to love unconditionally, showing ourselves generous with others, caring and heartfelt. But we are not totally dependent on others and we can also love ourselves and our lives.

Physically, the air is able to enter our lungs fluidly, charged with oxygen, which is transported into the rest of the body by a functional circulatory system.

If the fourth chakra is closed, the resulting problems are linked to the affective sphere. We are incapable of loving ourselves first of all and consequently also those around us. We become cold and apathetic, always suspicious and circumspect because we tend not to trust anyone.

If it opens too much, however, our attention will be focused exclusively on others to divert attention from ourselves. But it will not be a disinterested love: we will try to obtain the greatest number of benefits from a relationship, without the intention of giving anything in return.

Other consequences of the malfunctioning of the heart chakra are the inability to love, respiratory and cardiac diseases, selfishness, disconnection and isolation.

Then let's see how to rebalance it.

How to rebalance the fourth chakra

The asanas that help to reopen the fourth chakra are all those where the chest is the protagonist, such as the Anahatasana or the Dhanurasana, and all breathing techniques, such as Pranayama. As always, Reiki can help this chakra to activate and to balance itself.

You can also concentrate by listening to the mantra Yam, the mantra tied to the fourth chakra, while practicing or meditating.

To open this chakra you can also do full-breathing exercises involving large chest openings, help people every day and put aside hatred.

  • Position: in the centre of the chest
  • Function: love, humility, compassion, generosity, openness to others
  • Color: green
  • Element: air
  • Sense: touch
  • Stones: All green stones, in particular Tourmaline and Avventurine
  • Mantra: Yam, O
  • Lotus: 12 petals with two inverted triangles in the centre forming a 6-pointed star
  • Note: fa
  • Animal: antelope

#5 - Vishuddha: the chakra of the throat

5 Vishuddha the chakra of the throat reikishamanichealing

The Vishuddha chakra is located right at the base of the throat and is connected to the communication, both with others and with ourselves, and to the emotions that result. It controls the neck, throat, hands and arms, and is associated with the bronchial or cervical plexus.

The color of this chakra is light blue and symbolizes transparency. When this chakra is open, in fact, you can express yourself clearly and transparently, with touch, without offending. Your voice is calm and relaxed, you know how to listen to others and you always manage to express what you think and let yourself go.

The opening of the fourth chakra also brings great creativity, which is a very powerful way to express yourself. Our social relationships are pleasant and relaxed, we take an intense interest in others with understanding and without judging.

Our ability to concentrate is also very high. Since we are very predisposed to listening, learning also becomes fast and effective.

On the contrary, the closure of this chakra leads to not being able to express oneself well or to listen to others. We are unable to say no, we feel extremely shy and awkward and we can no longer express our creativity, either through words or through artistic disciplines.

All this leads to a situation of deep discomfort that in the long run can make us close so much in ourselves that we do not want or even be afraid to be together with other people. Needless to say, our social relationships will inevitably disintegrate.

Even at the physical level we can run into problems, first of all the thyroid, but also the breathing and related organs. Illnesses such as asthma, bronchitis, mouth ulcers, speech disorders, but also ear aches and pains will appear.

When the chakra is too open and working too much, we become logorrhoic, never listening to what others tell us. What we say, however, is not what we really think but our conversations will be based on lies and manipulations.

We also feel too self-confident and we do not accept criticism, even when it comes from the people we love.

How to rebalance the fifth chakra

When the fifth chakra is unbalanced, what we have to do is bring out our creativity and learn to appreciate silence and listening.

It doesn't matter if you have a creative block. Try to fight it by painting, writing, dancing or singing, even if the result won't be the best! The important thing is to be able to let go of your emotions.

You can practice Reiki or even yoga asanas that affect your neck and shoulders, such as Matsyasana, also called the position of the fish.

I also recommend you to do meditation, focusing deeply on your breath, maybe listening to the mantra of Vishuddha, the HAM, which you can hear in the video below.

Any other methods to activate the throat chakra? With rotations and movements of the neck, shouting everything you hear in a quiet place, doing vocal exercises, doing singing exercises and pronouncing mantras in a repetitive and systematic way.

Summary sheet of Vishuddha

5 Vishuddha the chakra of the throat reikishamanichealing
  • Position: At the level of the throat, at the crossing of the bones of the clavicle

#6 - Ajna: the chakra of the third eye

6 Ajna the chakra of the third eye reikishamanichealing

We continue upwards along the path of the kundalini, until we arrive at the penultimate chakra: the chakra of the third eye.

The chakra of the third eye is located in the head, between the eyebrows, and is the symbol of intuition and sight beyond appearances and beyond even reality itself.

It is inevitably connected to the eyes but also to the forehead, temples, brain and spinal cord. In this chakra are connected all opposites and all duality, such as male and female, reason and intuition, form and substance, body and mind, good and bad.

And the third eye sees what exists beyond these concepts, dissolving the duality to get to see the true reality.

If the flow of energy that crosses this fifth chakra is not blocked, we get in tune with our higher self. We become intuitive, aware, concentrated and highly perceptive. We can visualize thoughts and images, empathy amplifies and we can understand what other people think.

We see the world for what it is, in its energy and spirituality, wisely and without prejudice. We can understand the essence of what surrounds us, seeing beyond what we physically see with our eyes.

When Ajna is blocked, we become selfish, cynical, materialistic, cold and calculating. We only trust what we see with our eyes and can no longer perceive what exists beyond.

We can no longer dream or plan our future, we become insensitive and detached, without the ability to stay focused on something for long.

Physically, the head will be affected: headache, migraine, fatigue, insomnia, neurosis, eye pain and even blindness. But the sixth chakra can also be too open and in this case, in addition to the physical pains, we become manic, self-celebrating and tend to blame others for our faults.

It is therefore important that even the sixth chakra is always balanced to maintain inner serenity and a stable relationship with others.

How to rebalance the sixth chakra

To rebalance the third eye chakra, meditation is very important. Through meditation we can communicate with ourselves and with the energy that is around us. Even the practice of Reiki undoubtedly brings you closer to this goal.

It is also important to practice pranayama to learn how to get benefits from our breathing. To open the sixth chakra we can do so by listening to the mantra of the sixth chakra, the om

In addition to Reiki and meditation, to rebalance the sixth chakra you can do activities that stimulate creativity or immerse yourself in nature, paying attention to the small details of life and contemplating the beauty that surrounds us every day, such as a sunset or a starry sky.

Details that make our existence so beautiful, deep and worth living.

To activate the third eye chakra you can also do guided meditations, visualize simple geometric shapes, massage the temples and eye contour in a circular way, and massage the eyes with the eyelids closed using your fingertips.

# 7 - Sahasrara: the crown chakra

7 Sahasrara the crown chakra reikishamanichealing

Finally we arrive at the seventh chakra, the highest, the last one that reaches the kundalini in this ascent: the crown chakra.

It is located at the top of your head, just like a crown, and controls the top of the head, the nervous system and the brain. It is associated with the color purple.

The Sahasrara is the chakra of liberation, knowledge and bliss. It is not found in the physical body, but above, above the head. It is linked to the energy of the universe, to the connection with the Divine, to the Enlightenment. Whoever reaches this stage will have understood the mysteries of life, including birth and death.

This chakra is represented by a lotus with a thousand petals, a symbolic number that indicates infinity. Its energy will dissolve your Ego in the Whole and transform us in turn into energy.

The opening of the seventh chakra will give you wisdom, well-being, tranquility and happiness. You will be patient, understanding and compassionate.

But what happens if the energy flow of the seventh chakra is blocked? When the flow is blocked, we will not be able to cultivate our spirituality. We will then feel apathetic, despondent, unwilling to live, depressed.

If it is too open, then we will be attached to unimportant things, material goods and power, overwhelmed by ignorance and dissatisfaction, and we will always feel anxious, arrogant, impatient.

Even on the physical plane we will be affected and suffer from exhaustion, mental confusion, depression, apathy to the point of ending up in psychosis and schizophrenia.

Other problems with this chakra can cause the need to dominate and manipulate others to get what you want, the fact of always wanting to be right, bullying, rigidity in the form of thinking, a high ego, materialistic values, the difficulty in concentrating, the difficulty of thinking independently.

How to rebalance the seventh chakra

In addition to Reiki sessions, the yoga positions that help us rebalance the seventh chakra are those that stimulate the top of the head, such as Sirsasana or Sasangasana, but also Padmasana, also called lotus position, which will help you find the concentration for meditation, perhaps listening to the mantra Ah.

You can also activate the crown chakra with meditation and prayer exercises, you can also try to keep your mind free of thoughts for at least 20 minutes with the help of a mantra and in a sitting position with your back upright.

How is a Reiki Session?

What is Reiki?

The word Reiki comes from REI which means universal energy and KI life force. The universal energy is around us and is also in plants, animals, nature, represents life and, most interestingly, is inexhaustible. The vital force is the energy that we have individually and that circulates through the whole organism maintaining its functions.

The human being has not only the physical body but also the emotional body and the mental body. These three bodies are moved by the vital force.

When there is a problem, a concern or a restlessness, this activity is directing the three bodies: we think about the problem, this, in turn, awakens some emotion and can affect the physical body and cause a contracture, for example.

Reiki is one of the few therapies that can act on all three bodies.
When a session is carried out, no objectives are set, nor subjects to touch.
The therapist is neutral and lets the energy flow through the channels and reach the palm of his hands.
The energy the person receives is neutral and acts on the person depending on their own needs.

How is a Reiki Session?

During a Reiki treatment, the energy flows through the hands of the therapist to the patient.

Normally the patient is lying on a bed with clothes on, although a Reiki treatment can also be received sitting or standing.

The Reiki Master places his hands in different positions near different areas of the patient's body, corresponding to the main Chakras. Each hand position is held for three to five minutes. The placement of the therapist's hands should not be inappropriate or exert any kind of pressure.

During a treatment, you feel a deep relaxation, a great sense of peace. Many people fall asleep, which has no influence on the final result, some feel a tingling, heat or cold in different parts of the body as the energy flows, other people see colors, experience a feeling of "floating" or feel emotions that come to the surface and others simply do not feel anything, in this case Reiki will be working at more subtle levels.

It increases your energy and your mood, giving you a more positive outlook on life.
Past stressful situations don't seem to worry you as they used to.

Many patients after receiving their first sessions experience changes that can be annoying. It is common that in the days following the session you may have feelings of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, sore throat or just spend a week angry or feelings come to the surface. Then this person thinks that Reiki has gone badly and that it is worse than before the start of the sessions. This is called a Healing Crisis.

What do we call a Healing Crisis?

A healing crisis is a process that is activated in our being, through which our physical body releases toxins accumulated in our organs and our mental-emotional body releases emotions or reveals patterns of thought that are harmful to us. This is what we call a healing crisis.

Mental-emotional symptoms that we may experience during a Healing Crisis are:

  • Anger
  • Sadness
  • Fear
  • Hate
  • Anxiety

Physical symptoms we may experience during a Healing Crisis:

  • Increased sweating
  • Increased urination
  • Increased bowel movements
  • Rashes
  • Vomiting
  • Cold or flu symptoms
  • Headaches
  • Fever
  • Past pains

Each person responds to treatment in a different way. In general, in order to suffer a healing crisis, it is necessary to carry out a treatment of several sessions where the person cleanses himself thoroughly of the blockages.

The longer a Reiki treatment is, the more complete and lasting its effects will be. More results can be achieved with the combination of Reiki with Sacred Plants. For this reason I use:

- Rapé

- Sananga

A session, for example, acts on the consequences and solves specific problems; on the contrary, the Reiki applied in a planned and unhurried way is oriented towards the cause of the ills and harmonizes the individual and its globality.

In these cases, the apparent aggravation will disappear after two or three days, but it is usually convenient to carry out more sessions.

In addition, it should be borne in mind that a comprehensive treatment affects the whole body, mind and spirit.

Someone can visit a Reiki Master to be healed of an ailment and at the end of the treatment have changed completely behavior, way of thinking or way of relating to others. This is due to the emotional and mental rebalancing that Reiki produces.

Through Reiki we relive past events that are often unpleasant and produce feelings of anguish, fear, abandonment or rejection. Manifesting emotions is necessary to cleanse the soul and release it energetically, but it gives rise to those emotional crises that we call "catharsis".

When the energy triggers these traumatic phenomena also known by reiki practitioners as "removed", the patient should not be frightened and leave the session but on the contrary, reaffirm their confidence in the power of Reiki.

How long does a session last?

In order to carry out a good Reiki treatment, as we have already said, three to five minutes are dedicated to each one of the positions, which makes the session last approximately one hour. The patient will remain lying on a bed, barefoot and dressed. During the session, soft music and aromas such as incense or essences (aromatherapy) are used.

In this time there are three well marked parts: the preparation time, with a small talk between the reiki master and the patient (in this first part will be alse performed the energy cleansing), the time of imposition of the hands in the different parts of the body, the time after the imposition of hands. This time is more important, as the person usually reaches a high degree of relaxation. In the last part, there is no time, it depends on the person.

How many sessions will we need?

The essential part is not the number of sessions, but how the person feels in each of the sessions. The work that is done is very subtle and many things can be removed, some of them that have been kept for a long time.

As the person feels as he feels, the visits are adjusted; one a month, one every two weeks, one every week.

In addition, with the following sessions, you can also work deeper with the help of special meditations of the Shamanic Reiki lineage, crystal therapy, pendulum, tarots, sacred plants, music therapy. All these practices are performed here in Berlin, at Reiki Shamanic Healing.

Is the location of the Reiki treatment important?

You have to make sure that the place where the Reiki treatment is going to be carried out has good vibrations.

The room should not be too cold or too hot, it should be painted with soft colors, order and cleanliness should prevail, otherwise, bad vibrations and negative energy will accumulate.

It is advisable to use incense or mild aromatic essences and relaxing music that will help the patient to be more receptive.

What does Reiki feel like?

What you feel during the Reiki treatment changes a lot from one person to another, it is very subjective.

Some people notice the therapist's hands very hot and sometimes very cool.

Most people who receive a Reiki treatment feel very comforted, relieved of tension and very relaxed. The benefits that are received with Reiki are cumulative, that is to say, that perhaps during the first session nothing was noticed but for sure that in the following sessions you will perceive new and very pleasant sensations.

Does Reiki treatment interfere with other medical treatments?

Not at all. Reiki treatment is safe and can be compatible with any type of medical care you are receiving.

More and more hospitals are applying Reiki treatment to their patients, which shows us that Reiki is effective and highly recommended.

Did you know...?

Reiki is a path of inner growth, both if you receive it and if you want to deepen and take the initiation. The person who enters into it discovers an unimaginable world that is within reach of his hand.

What is Reiki and what are its Benefits?

Throughout our lives we experience internal blockages that hinder the circulation of energy, so we sometimes feel disharmonized.

When our vital energy (Ki) is strong, we are physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually healthy. When our life energy is at a very low level, we can become unbalanced or sick in various ways. One of the ways we can replenish ourselves with Vital Force is by using Reiki.

Reiki is a Holistic technique as it harmonizes and unblocks all planes of the human being, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. It does not attack the body in any way and does not create addiction or side effects or collateral effects because it does not employ chemicals or foreign elements to the body but only the energy of life that is present in every living being.

It is used in combination with sacred plants:

Reiki Properties and Benefits

The immediate benefits of Reiki are many.
On a physical level, you will feel a deep relaxation, your heart rate will slow down, and you will breathe better. The Reiki will restore your body's energy balance and set in motion the body's natural ability to heal itself.
The most common physical effects are:

  • Relaxation
  • Pain management
  • Increased energy
  • Reduces depression
  • Improves sleep
  • Improves digestion
  • Gives you a feeling of general well-being

On the mental and emotional level, Reiki reconnects you with your emotions and feelings, allowing you to let go of what is no longer useful, resulting in a state of peace of mind that we rarely experience in this fast-paced world in which we live. You will experience:

  • Anxiety Reduction
  • Mental clarity
  • Increased attention span
  • More balance
  • Increased self-esteem
  • Increased intuition

Greater ease and satisfaction in your personal and professional relationships
The Reiki is absolutely safe. It is non-invasive and there is nothing in it that can interfere with any medicine you are taking. In fact, many of the world's most luxurious spas, and more and more hospitals, are offering Reiki therapies as an ideal complement to their traditional services.

Main Benefits Explained

Reiki has a lot of properties and benefits for those who receive it. Thanks to this technique, some of the results we can achieve are the following:

Promotes harmony and balance

Reiki helps promote harmony and balance. It is an effective non-invasive energy healing technique that enhances the body's natural healing capacity while providing energy and promoting overall well-being.

Reiki works directly to restore balance at all levels and goes directly to the problem that causes the ailments, rather than simply masking or alleviating the symptoms.

When we talk about balance, we mean mental and emotional balance, left and right brain, male and female, labeling things as good or bad, positive or negative, etc.

By balancing all the levels Reiki can help reducing anxiety and depression.

Creates deep relaxation and helps the body release stress and tension.
After a Reiki therapy, you will notice that you are much more relaxed than when you started. It generates balance and general well-being, by reducing stress, you will feel much better about yourself and your environment.

What many people enjoy about a Reiki treatment is that it gives them time for themselves, a time during which they are not "doing" but simply "being". Patients always say that they feel clearer, more peaceful, relaxed and "lighter" after a Reiki therapy.

Reiki provides a space where you can become more aware of what is happening within your body and mind, to learn to listen to your own body and make wise decisions regarding your well-being from this place. Being more present means that you are in your body, which helps you to access even more of the inner knowledge and wisdom that we all have.

Dissolves energy blockages and promotes the natural balance between mind, body, and spirit.Reiki harmonizes and balances all planes of the person: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. In this way, it unblocks stagnant energy. Often we do not dedicate enough time to ourselves, and that generates some waste of energies, good and bad, within ourselves.

Stagnation becomes a burden that we carry with ourselves and one of the benefits of Reiki is to help us unblock that toxic energy.

Regular Reiki treatments can provide a calmer, more peaceful state of well-being, in which a person is better able to cope with everyday stress. This mental balance also improves learning, memory, and mental clarity.

Reiki can heal mental/emotional wounds and can help alleviate mood swings, fear, frustration, and even anger. Reiki can also strengthen and heal personal relationships.

Because Reiki improves your ability to love, it allows you to open up to the people around you and help you grow in your relationships.

Helps the body cleanse itself of toxins and helps the immune system.

We spend so much time in the stress-reactive fight/flight phase that it becomes our "norm" and our bodies literally forget how to return to balance.
Reiki reminds our bodies how to move into the parasympathetic nervous system self-healing mode (rest/digestion).

Rest doesn't mean you have to stop being active and productive, or 'do nothing'. It allows you to sleep and digest better, which is important for maintaining health and vitality. The more you find yourself in this space, the more active and productive you will be without stress or exhaustion.

Reiki is a booster of our vital energy and electromagnetic field, which is directly related to the immune system. This is why Reiki helps strengthen the immune system, which results in better overall health.

In this plane, Reiki is also advisable to reduce migraines and combat insomnia.

Strengthen any medical treatment.

Applying reiki to medications and at any time of a medical treatment, it will be of great help to facilitate healing and reduce the possible side effects of such treatment.

Clear your mind and improve your focus

Reiki can help you stay focused on the present moment rather than being trapped by regrets about the past or anxieties about the future. It can strengthen your ability to accept and work with the way events unfold, even when they do not meet your wishes or expectations.

You begin to react to situations, people, and yourself in solidarity rather than as a habit.
Furthermore, Reiki increases your concentration, by avoiding stress states, concentration increases, making you a more effective person.

Helps you sleep better

The number one result of receiving a Reiki session is relaxation. When we are relaxed, we sleep better, our bodies heal better, we think more clearly, and we relate more genuinely. Often, clients will experience deep relaxation during their Reiki session and sometimes deep sleep during the session as well.

Improves self-esteem

And this is one of the best benefits of Reiki, it is important to learn that, to love others, the first step is to love yourself. Value and take care of yourself above all else. Reiki is the perfect path for that.

Free yourself from obsessive thoughts.

The daily practice of Reiki helps us to observe the movement of thoughts without getting hooked or obsessed with them. This results in greater mental clarity, improved concentration and sleep regulation.

Balancing emotions.
One of the key aspects in the origin of the illness are the emotions. Knowing how to recognise, manage, heal and transform them is something that Reiki moves easily.

Increase intuitive awareness.
Naturally the more you practice Reiki, the more you expand your awareness of all that we are. This allows us to access states of consciousness where we can obtain information and guidance to help us in our evolution.

Releasing creativity.
To stop repeating patterns of behaviour and to create new ways of relating to existence is another of the benefits of the practice of Reiki.

Balancing and empowering the energy centers.
On the energetic plane, it allows us to keep each of our energy centers or chakras always activated and in harmony.

Accelerating spiritual growth.
The immediate and simple possibility of connecting with divine states of consciousness accelerates our evolutionary process.

Guide you towards spiritual enlightenment.
Enlightenment, not as the end of the road, but as a greater liberation from ignorance and separation, leading to true peace and happiness. It is a very possible state in human evolution. Reiki will not give you enlightenment but it can speed up the process so that you reach the gates of that state.

Did you know that Reiki is recognized by the WHO?

Reiki is a complementary therapeutic practice recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) since 1995, since it does not try to replace conventional treatments, but to complement them to minimize side effects that may arise, as well as emotional, mental and spiritual situations caused by the same disease or its diagnosis.

It is defined by the NCCAM (National Center for Alternative and Complementary Medicine in the USA) as Energy Therapy, and more specifically as a biofield therapy since it concentrates on the interaction of the different levels of energy in the body.

The Spanish Ministry of Health, Social Policy, and Equality, in its document/report analyzing the situation of natural therapies, says in this respect: "it is a method of energy transfer to facilitate the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of people, rebalancing at all levels. It is an approach to natural self-healing. It uses the concept of universal vital energy (Reiki) which, suitably directed by a professional, either at a distance or by placing his hands on or near a person, aims to improve the spirit and, consequently, the body. The therapist's hands can transmit vital energy to the patient in order to treat mental and emotional problems, as well as to alleviate or eliminate symptoms, discomforts and cure acute or chronic illnesses".

Another classification classifies Reiki within touch therapies, so-called because it is believed that the energy field is touched, an effect that occurs by the application of energy to restore, activate and balance the disorders of the energy fields through manual techniques or not.

It has also been encompassed within Integrative Medicine (IM), which deals with a person's body, mind and spirit in a holistic (total and integral) way, encouraging them to collaborate in their treatment and strengthening their healing/self-healing capacity through the combination of Conventional Medicine and Traditional Alternative and Complementary Medicine (TCAM).

According to the Consortium of Academic Health Centers for Integrative Medicine (CAHCIM) the basic principles of IM are:

It reaffirms the importance of the relationship between health professionals and patients.

It encourages patient-centered care by empowering patients to collaborate in their treatment.

Focuses on the person as a whole being: body, mind, and spirit.

Uses evidence-based therapies (conventional and MTAC) to support optimal health and healing.

Reiki Principles

Reiki follows the principles of shiatsu, acupuncture, and reflexology. It channels vital energy through the imposition of hands and applying the theory of the body's energy fields. The hands are the tool that balances these channels and unblocks the energy that has stagnated due to some kind of disease.

According to this philosophy, any physical, mental, emotional or spiritual illness appears when an energy field is blocked. When the natural flow of energy is restored, the body recovers its survival system and restores health as well as natural vitality. Reiki operates, therefore, on each of these fields, obtaining different benefits in each of them:

  • Physical: it improves the condition of body aches and pains.
  • Mental: illnesses such as insomnia, anxiety, stress are treated.
  • Emotional: emotions such as fear, anger, discomfort, dissatisfaction are treated.
  • Spiritual: works on aspects such as happiness, peace or harmony.

For many skeptics, Reiki is a type of magic without any solid foundation. However, its foundation is very similar to many premises of quantum physics. The people who have practiced it also claim to have obtained benefits. In any case, many hospitals and clinical centers are increasingly incorporating this technique as a complementary therapy to conventional treatments

What is necessary for Reiki Therapy?

To start a Reiki therapy we need a Reiki therapist and a patient. Reiki therapists are people who have studied the technique and can perform it with a patient.

One of the benefits of Reiki is that anyone can be treated, it has no side effects or contraindications. When we talk about a Reiki therapy we are not talking about invasive or aggressive therapies, quite the contrary.

It is not necessary to have a specific problem to receive a session, many people use it as a tool to feel better with themselves, less stressed and less overwhelmed.

Opening yourself to Reiki is like opening the door to a new life.

When we give Reiki to another person, we are effectively channeling the universal energy that flows naturally (ki, chi or qi) through our crown chakra, passing through the third eye chakra and throat chakra, into our heart chakra where the energy divides, descends from our arms to our hands and from our palms to a person. This universal energy is transported in the form of light, and as we know, light is a form of energy and has the duality of wave and frequency.

Then, that energy that we are channeling in the form of light excites the electrons of our atoms (which form our body) and makes them vibrate at a higher frequency, letting more energy flow into the body.

We are also unifying our energy into one field, and this energy field communicates in a sub-atomic way throughout our entire energy system, as well as the world around us.

When we give Reiki, we are channeling white light, and white is made up of all the colors of the rainbow. You will remember this from school experiments in light refraction. We can also imagine different colors of light that have their own signature of frequency. For example, violet has a very high frequency and ultraviolet light (which humans cannot see) even more.

Many alternative health professionals take health problems related to energy blockages in parts of our body that have reduced the flow of energy to vital organs that manifest in physical health conditions. In other words, low energy flow affects the ability of a body part or organ to heal properly and quickly. That's where Reiki comes in. We are directing the universal energy to excite electrons, restore the flow of energy and bring life-giving energy where it is needed, remove blockages and stuck emotions, stagnant energy, information or trauma at the cellular level.

Experienced practitioners of Reiki or other energy healing techniques can also detect energy, blockages and movements of energy with their hands, vision, inner vision, intuition and the use of physical tools such as crystals, pendulums, and feathers. Practitioners can also gain a good understanding of the person's energy system by talking to them about a person's life and current situation. These assessment tools can help us organize a suitable session for the person according to their needs.

Sometimes practitioners use sound instruments such as Tibetan bells and bowls, essential oils, incense, crystals, and whispers. This helps to create a more relaxed, liberating and joyful environment to further facilitate the healing process.

10 Practical Ways Reiki Therapy Can Help Your Life

My most important discovery with Reiki Therapy was that it does work. It is tangible (I can feel sensations on my palms) and gives me results (often an incredible "before and after" effect). There are no special skills needed to learn it, and after an initiation (the initiation ceremony offered in a Reiki course) everyone develops the important function of Reiki, the healing with the hands.

Its use on a daily basis, however, gave me an even bigger surprise: Reiki works on all aspects of my life, from the physical to the psychological, from the changing circumstances of life to a deeper spiritual understanding.

Reiki Therapy goes far beyond what I expected, in other words, far beyond when it was presented as an "energy healing practice". Or, perhaps, my understanding was simply too limited of its meaning, since, after all, the vital energy really means, is that everything is interconnected and can move and transform the reality of your life.

The healing of Reiki Therapy not only applies to physics but includes a complete global vision. And Reiki is not only a therapy, but in fact a personal spiritual practice. In fact, this is how it all began: a connection to the highest levels of consciousness, discovered in the early 20th century by the Japanese erudite Mikao Usui as the result of deep meditation practice.

You'll learn his story in my Level 1 Shamanic Reiki Course.

Here are my 10 ways Reiki Therapy can help you heal your life:

1. Reiki Therapy in Physical Healing:

Reiki promotes physical healing and general well-being and can be used for any disease. Pain is often significantly reduced and the healing process can be accelerated. It is completely safe and there are no contraindications, precautions or no matter whether you use it in a small cut from a kitchen knife or to treat a cancer patient.

2. Reiki Therapy to Complement Allopathic Medicine:

There is no need to separate the use of Reiki from conventional therapies. It perfectly complements them and even reduces the side effects of the medication. Did I mention that Reiki is accepted and practiced in hospitals? Of course, it is.

3. Reiki Therapy for animals, plants, and food:

My dog loves Reiki. A friend treated a bumblebee until it could fly again, and another friend's almost dead tomato plant resulted in almost an industrial production of large tomatoes. It can also be used while cooking, or work on an already prepared meal.

4. Reiki Therapy for inanimate objects:

Whether it's a dishwasher, an electric drill, a computer, a printer or a car, nothing is immune to Reiki.

5. Reiki Therapy in Difficult Situations:

Just think of a situation, and the intention to send Reiki to it. Or connect to the energy before entering a meeting. I'm sure it will work more smoothly and harmoniously in that situation.

6. Reiki Therapy for Harmony and Balance:

Reiki helps you relax and allows us to deal with anxiety, depression and emotional problems. Everything seems more balanced and peaceful and can work wonders if we have a problem in our relationships!

7. Reiki Therapy for Courage and Strength:

"I got out of my old job", "I finally said a few words with my boss", "Now I have the energy to follow my dream". These are some of the many stories I hear from people after learning Reiki.

8. Reiki Therapy and Intuition:

"Where did this intelligent idea come from, where does it suddenly come from?" Reiki opens us to the realm of intuition, guidance, and creativity. Many Reiki practitioners are able to develop incredible psychic abilities.

9. Reiki Therapy and Understanding the Universe:

The use of Reiki (which can be translated as universal or spiritual life energy force) connects us with something beyond what we can grasp with our five senses. What you call the universe, God, love, or simply energy. In Reiki, it often feels like light.

10. Reiki Therapy and Helping others:

Is there anything more satisfying than being able to help others? With Reiki, you can! Instead of only "professionals" believing that they can, actually, everyone in tune with Reiki can give treatments. It can treat your partner's headaches, help a chronically ill relative, or give Reiki to your neighbor’s cat. Reiki turns empathy into practice.

Sound too good to be true? Well, I thought the same thing. Until I started to witness Reiki Therapy on a daily basis in my own life. If you already practice Reiki, I'm sure you agree. If you are new to Reiki and you are intrigued, why not have a treatment, or even learn for yourself...
I am offering courses and sessions. Check it out on my website!

What is Shamanic Reiki and the Power of Sacred Master Plants

Reading time: 17 Minutes

[responsivevoice_button voice="US English Female" buttontext="Listen this Article"]

Since the beginning of time, Spirituality has been present in the human race; it is therefore an undeniable state of its nature and its capacity to interpret the cosmos, which gives a purpose and a meaning to its existence.

This ancient Spirituality has always been linked to the understanding of the surrounding environment represented by the earth, which is the donor of physical life, for this reason called Mother Earth or Pachamama. It is the sky that sustains life through the water that falls on it, and for this reason it has been called Father Sky.

That is why Shamanism is the most authentic and pure way to remember our roots, already forgotten by many in the present age.

The "Power Plants or Master Plants" play a very important role in this process, because they are the sons and daughters messengers of ancestral wisdom, to help man to remember his purpose and his union with the cosmos.

Shamanic Reiki is defined as the ability to learn to heal and channel internal energies (intention, thought and emotions) and external energies (lived experiences, the 5 elements of nature) for the evolution and awakening of consciousness, leading to happiness free from any conditioning and attachment.

What is Reiki? Origin and History

reiki shamanic healing berlin Alessandro Ferrari

Reiki is a word of Japanese origin, which dates back to the time of Grand Master Mikao Usui in 1922. His word is composed of two words REI: UNIVERSAL SOURCE and KI: ENERGY. Therefore, the word Reiki is defined as a universal source of energy from which to learn how to channel one's own happiness and that of many beings.

But this healing energy is much older than the word Reiki, because the word is only a way to define something much greater. Much earlier in Egypt this energy was already known and was called KA (Divine Essence, Pure Personality. It is the spiritual energy that animates and gives life to men and gods). In China it was known as TAO (infinite and mysterious energy that cannot be defined). In old India it is called PRANA (The universal energy that manifests itself in man), while in Andean shamanism it is called KAWSAY PACHA (Cosmos of living energy). He may also have received many names, depending on the time and culture in which he was practiced. It is also important to know that it is a luminous energy that is everywhere, the same word God is born from the ancient Greek Deux, whose translation is Light.

So it can be called in many ways, but it is the same energy of loving healing. For the same reason the word Reiki today has been taken as synonymous with well-being and health, adopted by many other types of paths, but originally it is Japanese and coined by master Mikao Usui to define and channel the wisdom gained in his experience of satori (Enlightenment).

When Reiki is applied for healing purposes, it begins to transmute the energies of our body, mind and spirit. Reiki accelerates self-healing, opens the mind and spirit to the true causes of illness and pain, which have their origin in the mind. The Usui Reiki System is a natural art of healing, employing the loving energy that vibrates in all beings and things manifested by creation.

The Usui System of Natural Healing continues to be transmitted through the Reiki Masters. In the past this was an oral tradition (Kuden), today there are many books and texts on Reiki, but for the transmission of energy and lineage it is necessary to be in physical presence and have a true human contact with a Reiki Master, to receive that deeper teaching. The Masters are committed to the art of Healing, its lineage, the principles of Reiki and the lifestyle that this entails.

In fact, the lineage in Reiki is the only possible certification that tells the story of one's own personal Reiki.

Benefits of Shamanic Reiki

Andean Shamanic Reiki works at every level and naturally adapts to the needs of the receiver. Reiki is excellent for treating physical, mental, emotional and spiritual problems and gives wonderful results.

Reiki treatment increases the body's natural ability to heal.
It increases vitality and energy, body functions, mind, emotions, essence and aura.
Reiki treatment releases blocked energy and promotes relaxation and reduces stress, chronic fatigue, fears, phobias, addictions.

Reiki energy has an innate intelligence and goes where the body and aura need it.
It helps to purify the body from the energy and physical toxins, increases its power over time, increases energy, intuition, meditation and spiritual evolution.
It strengthens the immune system, balances the endocrine system and normalizes blood pressure.
Reiki is absorbed by every cell in the body in the necessary amount and flows where there is a deficiency.

The Shamanic Reiki Lifestyle: The GOKAI
(The five principles of Reiki)

reiki shamanic healing berlin Alessandro Ferrari

Reiki: "Secret method to attract happiness. Wonderful medicine for all diseases of the body and soul".

1. Just for today I abandon my worries

2. Just for today I abandon anger

3. Just for today am I grateful (I honor my parents, teachers and elders)

4. Just today do I work honestly on myself.

5. Just for today I flow and I am compassionate towards all sentient beings.

The Gokai have a very strong energy in the practice of every Reiki Practitioner and many times they are not given the importance that they really have. They were inspired by Emperor Hiroito, the last emperor of Japan, who was very attached to the arts and poetry. Mikao used them as a sympathizer of the emperor, took them and made them part of his teachings, but with a much deeper and more introspective nuance.

These are 5 principles that every Reiki Practitioner should practice, meditate and deepen every day.

Just for Today - Kyo Dake

It refers to the value of each day. The only thing that really exists is the present, not the past or the future. Life is today. Today is the experience of every moment and the way we live this moment determines our life. The power of the now is giant and has a unique power, because to be happy it is necessary to make decisions that lead to that happiness, not yesterday, not tomorrow, NOW. This precept invites you to live life in this moment, to take charge of and transmute all those energies in the present (here and now), in this day.

"Just for today" refers to the other five principles.

Just for today I abandon the worries - Kyo Dake Shinpai Suna

The concern is powerless and useless, it is a huge waste of mental energy and has never solved anything. Instead of worrying, exercise in each of your actions and take care of them. If you act with an enlightened heart, you will cross the world without generating any karmic imprint. Learn the art of letting go the mind and its fears, to transmute them into faith.

A great Master used to say, "Each day has enough trouble of its own.".

Just for today I abandon anger - Kyo Dake Okoru Na

Have you ever seen or experienced that anger solves something without causing pain? Feeling anger, irritation, hurts you and hurts others, doesn't help, doesn't work, realize it and start looking for another approach that turns anger into wisdom. Anger is just another energy, but it's not part of your essence.

The energy moves under the universal law of cause and effect, one thing leads to another; fear leads to concern, concern leads to control, control inexorably does not go as we want and frustration originates, and from frustration comes anger and with it the physical illness and many troubles of the world. If you want to cut the chain, turn off all the fear that is the root of everything.

Learn to look at it and observe yourself when it comes and you'll get rid of it.

Selfish people are destroyed through anger, resentment and hatred. Through Reiki we can learn to harmonize our emotions and our spirit. Do not confuse this with repressing anger, you have to channel and transform it.

Just for today I'm grateful to you - Kyo Dake Kansha Shite

Be grateful to others and to the power of nature, because you have been given the gift of life. Gratitude is an energy of high consciousness. We lose ourselves when we forget the feeling of gratification and gratitude.

Many beings to desire what they do not have, lose what they do have.

Gratitude generates abundance, just like a loving mother or grandmother when she gives you your favorite food, and if you thank her, she happily serves you another dish. Our beautiful Pachamama is the same: thank every day the gift of life, the gift of breath, your food, the beings who love you and so gratitude will begin to be an integral part of your essence, you will never miss anything.

Precisely for this reason, "Thanksgiving is for the wise".

Just for today I work honestly on myself. - Kyo Dake Goo Hage Me

Dedicate time to your personal and spiritual growth. Begin to develop the spiritual discipline necessary to achieve your full happiness, the old bad habits are no longer good companions on this journey. The most sacred value of the universe are Time and Space, thanks to them life as we know can exist. Give time and space to your practice and you will see how heaven will reward you.

It's like watering a plant and what you water grows.

Don't waste time criticizing or judging others. Bring all that energy to your being, to awaken all the potential you have inside. You have a lot of work to do, be constant.

Just for today I flow and am compassionate with all sentient beings. Kyo Dake Hito Ni Shinsetsu Ni

Taking care of Nature, our Planet and all living things, especially our fellow human beings, is the only task worth doing in this world.

If people help each other, a healthy community is built for the first time. There is no difference between oneself and others in terms of importance in the universal dimension. It is the same spirit that exists. Remember the Great Law of the Cosmic Mirror, where all that happens to you is a reflection of your inner self. So being kind to others also means taking care of yourself. This feeling will naturally develop during the practice of Reiki, discovering a lesson of love and harmony in everything that surrounds you.

Shamanism as a Healing Path

Shamanism is a totally experiential path, where the healer, before offering a certain master plant or ceremony/experience, must first of all have lived it himself. By experiencing first-hand the benefits that this can bring. Therefore, for a being to declare himself a Shaman, he must have had many experiences, put all wisdom and knowledge to the test to see its truthfulness and effectiveness.

The Shaman is a Chakaruna (man or woman bridge) between the world above and the world below, his purpose is to maintain the balance between the two planes. For this reason it occupies different types of vehicles and tools that help it to heal and get in touch with the invisible world of spirits and all the energies that move there.

The Shamanic Reiki Practitioner is a healer par excellence, that using all his knowledge and with the help of visible and invisible guides, has managed to heal himself first and foremost and free himself from the afflicted states of mind. For the same reason he is ready to help free other beings.

He is a wise being who does not act quickly, but observes until the right moment to act appears, is patient with himself and with others, speaks lovingly and sincerely, does not seek a result or even less control, but lives in every moment in the hands of the great spirit and its plans. He does not make enemies, nor fears demons, because he knows that they are the reflection of his subconscious, then he integrates them with the immortal love and makes them his allies.

The Shamanic Reiki Practitioner must find the magic that is hidden in everything created. Where some see chance or fortune, he must see the universal causality and synchronicity that has meant that, where some lose themselves in labeling, structuring and shaping things, he can instead see the solar and lunar energies that move between the shadows, where everyone analyzes he must intuit, where all have lost their calm he must remain serene, when all cry and flee before death, he must smile and embrace it.

Therapeutic Use of Sacred Plants

reiki shamanic healing berlin Alessandro Ferrari

Every living being that pulsates on this planet is a reflection of the cosmos, "As it is above, so it is below, and as it is below, so it is above," says the ancient universal law. For the same reason every pulsing being in this world has something to show us, something to teach us and we have something to learn and integrate.

Therefore, the great vegetable kingdom has many things to teach us, we just need to become its observers. For example, every plant wisely searches for sunlight that is thousands of miles away, it is miraculous that something as small as a flower seeks something far away and that is millions of times larger than it, but at the same time something as small gives a purpose to something so big, this is the miracle. We must learn from him and know that the solar vitamin is fundamental in the organism for the fixation of calcium, as well as other minerals in the bones, and the main form in which it is acquired is being exposed to the Sun, this allows us to develop and grow like a plant. Thanking the Father Sun at sunrise and in its twilight, is to thank life and be in union with the cosmos. Never complain about such a beautiful gift.

At the same time, every plant, every flower, every tree, has a different purpose, a different size, a different shape, a different aroma. We must also learn from this and accept diversity and differences, because this is the beauty of life.

Each plant also has different properties, with different virtues and gifts. Our ancestors have been wise in this regard, since herbal medicine is thousands of years old and they have kept its records in many ways.

For example, a plant of hierbabuena, has relaxing properties and for the digestive system, ginger helps us with infectious processes and others also have aromatic properties, oils and other for bathing, in short is a gigantic fan for different uses as well as therapeutic.

Within this plant kingdom, there are some very special plants, which work not only physically, but rather at the level of the subconscious and unconscious, these plants are the bridges between the world of man and the world of the gods, so they are given the name of sacred plants or plants of power and at the same time they are also called mother plants, because they have to teach human beings and show them the great truth. These wonderful plants are daughters and sons of the sun and the earth and bring us a message of healing, liberation and wisdom, so their fear makes no sense. You must love them, not fear them.

There is a huge variety of these authentic nature spirits, each of whom is waiting for you: each one is a master in himself and each one has a message and a teaching for your happiness and your awakening.

Determining Factors of the Medicine

There is an enormous amount of disinformation and ignorance based on sacred plants, which produces a lot of fear and their rejection. Part of our mission as Shamanic Reiki Practitioners is to appreciate and value such a beautiful gift given by Mother Earth and then share it with those who need it. Einstein said, "It is easier to divide an atom than to disintegrate a prejudice," so sometimes the task is not easy, but with love everything can be done.

A Master Plant is and always will be a living experience, so its teaching is direct and profound, and allows evolutionary shortcuts in our learning and understanding of the cosmos and its energies. What can cost years of experience to acquire and integrate, with the right guidance of a Sacred Plant, can be shown in a few seconds.

It is not enough to recklessly try these plants, or give them to everyone, to the right and to the left. The plant also needs us, it needs a channel that understands it and knows how to direct its energy. Remember that a remedy at low doses has no effect and that in excessive doses it could be a poison. The middle way is the path of the Shamanic Reiki Practitioner, but the only way to walk and learn in Shamanism is to live it. That's why TRUST and FAITH deposited in the plant and in the being that guides and teaches, is a fundamental pillar in shamanic learning and the origin of all wisdom. The old disciple-teacher relationship, the earth and the sky, the moon and the sun, is lived in a human and at the same time divine experience. The same act of taking the plant is the proof of faith in Shamanism.

In order for a Sacred Plant to be energetically activated and reach its maximum potential, it needs two basic ingredients that are LOVE and WISDOM, without them no ceremony and healing makes any sense and therefore loses its ability to free human beings from their afflictive states, here is where it ends up becoming a form of escape and, worse, a vice. Remember that love and wisdom are the key.

Which Master Plants do I use in my Shamanic Reiki ceremonies and sessions? Mainly 4:

Coca Leaves

When I work in Perù I use as well another Master Plant:

San Pedro Cactus

Channeling Reiki: The Power of Treatments

In the initiates, the energy of Universal Reiki flows through one's being. Reiki is a subtle energy. The energy usually comes from the crown chakra, passes through the heart chakra and flows through the arms to the hands and from there goes where it is needed. This seems to be the uniform pattern of the flow of Reiki and many other healing energy systems.

Reiki is an energy that works in a descending way, so we cannot receive a negative energy or disease from the patient, because we become just a channel of light. We could say that the cosmos is the great mountain where the waters accumulate and the Reiki Practitioner is the river where they circulate, so no energy can go against that beneficial and powerful current.

The basic energy of Reiki has always been the ACTIVATED INTENTION.

Reiki uses the energy of the Ki or universal life force to make changes and transmute blockages in the energy body, to promote the preservation of well-being and health.

A therapist, harmonizes to heal.
Energy healing is very effective when the person follows an active treatment (followed) in a path, at the first session the patient will experience a lot of well-being and it is always advisable to perform at least 3 sessions per person.

Reiki as a Path to Awakening

Humanity is thousands of years old, more than science imagines. There have been complex civilizations in this world as they are now, with many technological advances even more advanced than now. Just see ancient cultures such as the Maya, Aztecs and pre-Incan cultures. Even more ancient are the cultures of Egypt, the Sumerians and so far comes science. More ancient are the civilizations of the lost continents of Atlantis and Lemuria, the true origin of all the other cultures mentioned above. But everything is cyclical and, as the great universal law says, what has a beginning will have an end, as well as this modern lifestyle based on fossil fuels and everything that accompanies it will have an end.

In Shamanism, we talk about a RECALL, a reminder of who you are, your life purpose, your cosmic purpose. But the human being does not remember, lives in a IGNORANCE (Avidya), the ignorance of not knowing its origin, its mission, nor know where it is going. From this ignorance of not knowing, comes the ignorance of the attachment to material things and all the erroneous beliefs that generate pain and affliction in this world.

REMEMBERING is fundamental today, to revive the old glories where science and spirituality were one, where mind, body and soul were harmoniously aligned with the universal currents of knowing how to live. Hence it comes the importance of ancestral wisdom that helps us to remember and awaken in this present the knowledge of our ancestors to recover the lost harmony.

And it is here that the process of self-healing takes on its fundamental role. Because the only way to restore your balance and alignment of bodies in harmony with the great source of being, is your SELF-HEALING and all the benefits that it attracts. Love your body which is the vehicle you have been given to live this short but wonderful human experience, take care of it and use it wisely, it is your temple. Love your mind and learn to calm it (Meditative states), love your emotional body and learn to channel its energies (Love Detachment). If you follow these noble steps every time you will feel better and lighter. You can become an oasis for other beings who live in a desert and are thirsty for refreshing wisdom that extinguishes all afflicted states. True Medicine is PURE WISDOM, you should appreciate it as a treasure.

With Reiki you have been given a nice gift, you're coming back to remember again. Never lose faith and like the old sages: live your life, moment by moment.
